The New Bloom’s Taxonomy

1. What will the students (not the teacher) be doing in this lesson, recalling and showing understanding (lower) or analyzing and evaluating to create a product (higher)?

2. Will students be expected to respond with specific, known answers (lower) or will they be asked to generate original thought (higher)?

Twitter Piktochart - 2014

Using Twitter to grow professionally is a theme I have extensively talked about in previous posts ( see this post or this one). However, today I am sharing with you a wonderful infographic featuring important tips, terms and tools to help teachers tap into the expansive potential of Twitter. I invite you to have a look and share with your colleagues.

“Computers themselves, and software yet to be developed, will revolutionize the way we learn.”—Steve Jobs

Versal is an open publishing platform for anyone to create interactive online courses - no coding required.

The Internet has connected all of us like never before. And yet, online learning is often one-dimensional - limited to videos and slide decks. It doesn’t have to be that way. Computers, and the modern Internet, are designed for interactivity.

We believe by partnering with education enthusiasts and developers, together we can make a difference.

Now, as we open Versal up for the first time, we can’t wait to hear what you think.

The SAMR Journey

The SAMR model has been my guiding light as I build modules for my teachers for their iPad Training Days. This is a wonderful visual from Learning Journey Blog
The examples make it real.

Surfly

Surfly is a new web-based app which allows you co-browse any web page while being able to show and see each other live cursor in real-time.

You can invite multiple attendees, and each one of them can see your selected web pages no matter what kind of device or screen size they have. As you scroll the page, they see it scrolling too.

To start a session you simply share a URL with those who you want to invite. No software to download or install. No need to even to register or login.

My comment: The best, easiest and most convenient tool to co-browse and collaborate over any web page at a distance. It works instantly. Nothing to do make it work. Simplicity and immediacy win over features.

Free to use.
